The conflict between Flor Peña and Nico Occhiato at Luzu TV continues to unfold, and this time Marley had to speak out. The host, who shared a program with the actress on the streaming channel, made statements from the United States where he is covering the 2026 World Cup.
Marley (Alejandro Wiebe) is one of Argentina's most beloved TV hosts, known for his charismatic presence on shows like Morfi con todos and his long-running friendship with Flor Peña, a prominent actress and media personality. Luzu TV is a popular Argentine streaming platform founded by Nico Occhiato, a former reality TV star turned media entrepreneur.
When consulted by the program PrimiciasYa (América TV), Marley initially tried to distance himself from the controversy: “I'm very happy, enjoying everything happening here with the National Team. We're experiencing this as a family, with my children,” he said, attempting to sidestep the media conflict.
However, under pressure, he defended the format: “The truth is that everything in life has a solution. There's too much fuss on TV. I have the best relationship with Florencia as always, and with Nico too. There's a lot of television exaggeration on this topic.”
When asked which side he stood on, Marley responded: “I am equidistant.”
For journalist Marina Calabró, that definition was telling. After the interview concluded, the panelist analyzed: “A phrase that makes it completely evident that things between Marley and Peña didn't end well at all. You don't let go of a lifelong friend's hand with such a technical word.”
The scandal erupted on June 18, 2026, when Flor Peña announced live the supposed death of Jorge Messi, father of football legend Lionel Messi, which turned out to be false information. After confirming the error, Occhiato decided to dismiss the production team and accept the actress's resignation.
Flor Peña offered public apologies to Celia Cuccittini, Lionel Messi's mother, and retreated to her family circle, accusing the channel owner of “lack of empathy.”
Reports suggest that Flor Peña's future at the channel could be defined once the media tension subsides. In parallel, Marley's continued presence is being evaluated, considering both his return to the current format and his possible participation in a new proposal within the channel.
Another version indicates that Occhiato might call other personalities to replace Peña and Marley. Marina Calabró confirmed on her program: “They've already contacted people. Even if they say no, the contact existed. Noelia Marzol and Vicky Xipolitakis.”
