An accident that shocked Brazil on June 13, 2026 at the infamous "Skeleton Bridge" in Limeira, São Paulo state, has taken an even more devastating turn with new testimony. A witness has revealed that María Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, a 21-year-old woman, was still alive after plummeting approximately 40 meters (about 131 feet) to the ground when instructors pushed her off the platform without properly attaching the safety rope.
The testimony comes from Rayza Gabrieli Dias Delfino, a 26-year-old nurse who was waiting in line for her turn to attempt the extreme sport known as "rope jump" when the tragedy unfolded. She captured the exact moment on her cell phone when the young woman was launched into the void without the crucial safety equipment.
Dias Delfino recounted that she was focused on her upcoming jump when she heard desperate screams from bystanders: "The rope! The rope!" That's when she realized something catastrophic had occurred.
The video footage captured shows several employees moving the woman to the edge of the platform before pushing her off. The victim was wearing a safety harness, but the critical safety rope meant to catch her fall was never attached.
The nurse rushed to where the young woman had fallen and found a critical situation: "I saw she was breathing with difficulty and checked her pupils. They were dilated, which can indicate brain injury. I also confirmed she had a pulse. It was very weak, but she still had a pulse."
Dias Delfino immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while waiting for emergency services. When the ambulance arrived, medical personnel had to cut part of the harness to use a defibrillator. Despite all efforts, the young woman passed away minutes later.

A crucial piece of evidence remains missing: the GoPro camera that the victim was wearing on her chest to record her jump.
The nurse testified before the Brazilian Civil Police that one of the employees removed the device after the accident. Another witness corroborated this version to investigators. To date, the camera has not been found, and police are attempting to determine what happened to this key piece of evidence.
This development has opened an additional line of investigation into a possible attempt by workers to hide evidence of the accident.

Rope jump is an extreme activity similar to bungee jumping, but with important technical differences. While bungee jumping uses an elastic cord that stretches and bounces, rope jump employs a static rope with no elasticity that stops the fall abruptly.
This activity requires extreme safety protocols, including double verification of all attachment equipment and certified professional supervision. The company responsible for the accident in Limeira had no tax registration, raising serious questions about its authorization to operate such dangerous activities.
The three instructors have been charged with homicide with implied intent, known in Brazilian law as "dolo eventual". This legal concept applies when someone doesn't necessarily intend to kill, but acts with such recklessness or indifference to human life that they essentially accept the possibility of death as a consequence of their actions.
This is a serious charge in Brazilian criminal law, carrying penalties similar to intentional homicide, reflecting the prosecution's view that the instructors' negligence was so extreme it constituted a form of acceptance of the fatal outcome.
Following the tragedy, a video circulated on social media showing one of the detained instructors, Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff (31 years old), performing a jump with a child strapped to his chest. The footage sparked widespread indignation and renewed criticism of the company's practices.
The other two detainees are Vitor de Freitas Gonçalves (27 years old) and Maicon Fernandes Cintra (42 years old), all held in preventive detention by order of the court.
