A Crime That Shook Tres Isletas

The quiet town of Tres Isletas, located in the center-north of Chaco Province in northern Argentina, was shaken on Friday night by an act of family violence that left the entire community in shock. Pamela Magalí Gauna, a young woman of 28 years, was brutally murdered inside her own home in the Grisetti neighborhood.

The main suspect is her own mother, Irma Gladis Pérez, 58 years old, who after committing the filicide voluntarily presented herself at the local police station to confess what happened.

Note: Chaco is one of Argentina's 23 provinces, located in the northern region of the country. Tres Isletas is a small town with approximately 20,000 inhabitants, known for its quiet rural lifestyle. The province of Chaco is one of the poorest in Argentina, with limited access to mental health services in rural areas.

The Phrase That Moves Social Networks

In the midst of the pain and commotion generated by the case, an old publication by Pamela on her Facebook profile began to circulate, causing bewilderment. The young woman had shared a dedication to her mother that today, after the brutal outcome, takes on a chilling significance: "My mom is everything".

That phrase, written probably with love and filial gratitude, transformed into a tragic premonition that thousands of users share with astonishment.

How the Crime Was Discovered

The investigation began from a phone call received by the Police. According to police sources confirmed, an uncle of the victim, approximately 40 years old, communicated with the police station to inform that his sister had confessed her intention to attack her daughter.

According to the suspect's account to her brother, she "preferred to do it herself by her own means" before her daughter left Tres Isletas and "something happened to her." This revelation anticipated the macabre outcome.

Upon arriving at the residence, officers found Pamela without vital signs, lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Next to the body appeared a butcher knife with a blade of more than 30 centimeters, which would be the weapon used in the attack.

Investigation Details

Forensic experts determined that Gauna's body presented multiple stab wounds distributed mainly in the neck and face area. Additionally, defensive wounds on the hands were detected, indicating that the victim tried to protect herself from the attack.

Data Information
Victim Pamela Magalí Gauna (28 years old)
Accused Irma Gladis Pérez (58 years old)
Location Barrio Grisetti, Tres Isletas, Chaco Province, Argentina
Seized weapon Butcher knife (blade +30 cm)
Prosecutor in charge Gerónimo Agustín Roggero

During the raid on the property, officers also seized mobile phones and various elements of interest for the case. The body was transferred to the morgue for the corresponding forensic examinations.

A Surprising Family Context

What most bewildered neighbors and relatives was that, according to witnesses who already declared before Prosecutor Roggero, mother and daughter lived together and maintained a good relationship. No one expected that bond to end in such a tragic way.

The case was labeled as presumed homicide and the accused remains detained while judicial proceedings advance.

What Is Filicide?

Filicide is the technical term used to describe the homicide of a child at the hands of one of their parents. It is a crime that, although infrequent, generates a profound social impact due to the rupture of the family bond and the trust placed in parents as protective figures.

In Argentina, filicide cases are investigated with special rigor, and the justice system seeks to determine the psychological and contextual circumstances that led the perpetrator to commit the crime. Mental health experts often participate in these investigations to evaluate the perpetrator's psychological state.

Context: In Latin American countries, including Argentina, family bonds are culturally very strong, making filicide cases particularly shocking to society. The phenomenon of "femicide" (the killing of women for gender reasons) has gained significant attention in Argentina in recent years, leading to legislative changes and greater social awareness about family violence.
