Escena de accidente aéreo en zona urbana de Río de Janeiro con columnas de humo, helicópteros de emergencia en primer plano, estilo periodístico, iluminación dramática de atardecer
Brazilian news portal g1, part of the Globo media group, revealed that Oswaldo de Luca Filho, owner of the Bell Helicopter model 206B registered as PP-MAC, was fined in July 2025 by Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac). The penalty was imposed after he refused to present logbooks, accounting documents, and other information requested by inspectors.
The fine, classified as minimal for being a first offense, amounted to 8,000 reais (approximately $1,500 USD at the time). This background raises questions about the history of the aircraft involved in the tragedy.
The collision between two helicopters occurred shortly before 8:59 AM local time on June 14, 2026 in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood, in western Rio de Janeiro. The total death toll was six people.

After the mid-air collision, one helicopter crashed onto a parking lot, causing an explosion that ignited nearby vehicles. The flames triggered secondary explosions and created a column of smoke visible from miles away.
The second helicopter did not catch fire but also crashed to the ground without being able to deploy its landing gear. Emergency rescue teams mobilized extensively to respond to the scene.
Helicopter PP-MAC (Bell 206B): Owned by Turfik Comércio de Frutas LTDA, a company belonging to Oswaldo de Luca Filho.
Helicopter PR-DJJ (Airbus H125): Registered to Maurício da Cunha e Silva Espíndola Dias, a businessman with holdings in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, according to data from the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).
Gaspar 'Gaspi' Prim Díaz was a well-known 23-year-old Argentine YouTuber. Alongside him, Lucas Vignale, an Argentine music video director, and American singer Oliver Tree also lost their lives.
The tragedy shocked the streaming community in Argentina and Latin America, generating an outpouring of condolences on social media.
Note: Gaspi was a rising figure in the Spanish-speaking digital entertainment world, known for his gaming and lifestyle content that attracted millions of young followers across the region.
