Manuel Adorni, the presidential spokesperson for Argentina's President Javier Milei, is facing the most critical moment of his tenure after revelations of a dramatic increase in his personal wealth triggered a major political scandal. According to various media outlets, his net worth reportedly jumped from 20 million to 944 million Argentine pesos, a difference that has sparked judicial investigations and widespread criticism.

The official reportedly justified this wealth growth before the Justice system by claiming a family inheritance. However, inconsistencies in his declarations raised red flags: he admitted having omitted $500,000 USD in official documents, according to reports from major Argentine newspapers Clarín and La Nación.
Oscar Zago, former leader of the ruling party La Libertad Avanza bloc in the Chamber of Deputies, stated that Adorni's departure is "inevitable" and declared: "For me, this matter is finished."
La Libertad Avanza is the right-wing libertarian political party founded by Javier Milei that won the 2023 presidential election.
According to investigations, Adorni reportedly incorporated $513,000 USD in undeclared funds in his sworn declaration, attributing them to bitcoin cryptocurrency operations conducted between 2013 and 2018.
Judge Ariel Lijo is leading the judicial investigation, while prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita is intervening in the case.

Karina Milei serves as the General Secretary of the Presidency and is considered the main architect of Milei's political strategy.
Financial markets do not appear to perceive systemic risks from this political conflict. Argentina's country risk remains near 450 basis points, and S&P's credit rating improved from CCC+ to B-. Investors trust the economic team and macroeconomic fundamentals.
According to data from Estudio Enter, negative mentions of Adorni increased from 135,000 to 323,000 in recent weeks, reflecting the spokesperson's deteriorating public image.
