Typhoon Saudel, the seventh to hit China this year, has unleashed torrential rains and severe flooding across Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, and Guangdong. Over 600,000 people were evacuated in Fujian alone, while rescue teams race against time to assist victims and search for the missing.
The Hawk Fire, which started on Saturday, August 22, northwest of Reno, Nevada, has already burned over 15,000 acres and destroyed 32 homes. With 23,000 people under evacuation orders and 40,000 on alert, crews are working against the clock to contain the flames, which are now 27% contained.
Typhoon Dolphin is battering eastern and northern China with unprecedented torrential rains. Shanghai has recorded its highest rainfall in 150 years, while Beijing prepares for a third of its annual rainfall in just 24 hours. Over a million people have already been safely evacuated.
