A Literary Festival on the Shores of the Paraná River
From Friday, August 14 to Monday, August 17, 2026, the Sala Mayo in the city of Paraná (capital of the Entre Ríos province in Argentina) becomes the epicenter of literature with the 14th edition of the Paraná Lee Book Fair. Organized by the Municipality of Paraná, the event gathers over 80 publishers and bookstores from across the country, with a schedule of more than 80 cultural, educational, and recreational activities.
The official opening took place on Saturday at noon, led by Mayor Rosario Romero, who highlighted that 'these spaces contribute fundamentally to making us better citizens, better people, to flying, to dreaming, to forming ourselves, to growing.' She was accompanied by the municipal Chief of Staff, Santiago Halle, and the Secretary of Culture of Entre Ríos, Julián Stoppello.
Something for Everyone
During the tour of the stands, visitors can find children's literature, manga, classics, illustrated books, and collectible editions. The Saltacharcos bookstore highlighted the proximity of Children's Day in Argentina, offering numerous options for the little ones, including the book Petit by Argentine writer and illustrator Isol, described as 'respectful of children's intelligence.'
There are also literary games with character and situation cards to invent stories, and manga is sparking great interest among teenagers. A 12-year-old student from the Santa Lucía Institute confessed his passion for Argentine history and figures like Manuel Belgrano: 'It's very good for the brain and it's very beautiful.'

Talks with renowned writers such as Martín Kohan, Camila Perochena, Luciano Lamberti, Josefina Licitra, Paula Galansky, Diego Golombek, Carmen Cáceres, Martín Sivak, Mauricio Dayub, Tomás Downey, Luciano Wernicke, and Pedro Mairal can be watched live on the YouTube channels of the Municipality of Paraná and the Honorable Deliberative Council, as well as on the platforms of the Municipal Editorial and Radio Costa Paraná.
The Editorial de Entre Ríos (EDER) is participating with its new releases and will present the book Horizonte de sucesos by Mariana Bolzán, winner of the Provincial Literary Prize Fray Mocho in the Novel category, on Monday, August 17 at 14:00 in the Central Hall.
Santa Fe as Guest City and a Bicentennial Tribute
In this edition, the neighboring city of Santa Fe participates as the guest city of honor, with local writers and the presence of Ediciones UNL (National University of the Litoral). Additionally, on Monday, August 17 at 11:00, the book Paraná, 200 años de historia. 1826-2026 will be presented. This is a publication by the Municipal Editorial that tours the art, culture, and historical buildings of the city, which is celebrating its bicentennial as a city this month.
The fair features the Children's Tent (Carpa de las Infancias) with permanent activities, a food court with food trucks, and the Casa de la Costa will host proposals from the Human Rights collective. Among the curiosities, a Peruvian publisher is presenting a collection of the smallest books in the world.
Admission is free and open to the public, from 10:00 to 20:00, at Sala Mayo in Puerto Nuevo. A unique opportunity to encounter literature, authors, and the rich culture of the Argentine Mesopotamia region.
