The world of Argentine entertainment and wrestling woke up to sad news on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The confirmed death of Pablo Más Albert at the age of 57 has left fans in mourning. He was best known for his portrayal of Teniente Steve Murphy, a character that captured the hearts of the audience during the golden era of national television wrestling.
Born on February 18, 1969, Más Albert became a household name starting in 2006, becoming a favorite for a generation that grew up watching the afternoon wrestling spectacles.
For our international readers, 100% Lucha (100% Fight) was not just a wrestling show; it was a massive television phenomenon in Argentina. Combining professional wrestling with reality TV elements and comedy, it aired on Telefe and became a staple of Argentine pop culture in the late 2000s.
Unlike traditional wrestling leagues like WWE, 100% Lucha focused heavily on character backstories and humor, creating unique idols and villains that transcended the ring.
According to the show's storyline (kayfabe), Murphy was an American military deserter from Utah, USA. His fictional mission was to win the 100% Lucha Championship to earn his return to his homeland.
Although he never won the ultimate title, he secured a lightning tag team tournament victory alongside McFloyd in 2007. He also engaged in one of the most memorable rivalries of the show against Ron Doxon, a character portrayed as a secret service agent.
Pablo's talent extended beyond the military uniform. He also played Sodrak, Master of Darkness, a masked wrestler who formed part of the dreaded 'Dupla del Terror' alongside Cara de Máscara.
After leaving 100% Lucha in 2008, he continued his career in Guerreros del Ring and led the pilot for Show Catch in 2011, introducing a new persona known as La Bestia (The Beast), showcasing his artistic versatility.
Upon hearing the news, Vicente Viloni, a historic figure of 100% Lucha and one of the show's most beloved protagonists, published a moving message on his social media:
“I feel it so much, my friend... I have no words, I am heartbroken. May God take care of you up there. It's not the same for me anymore, part of my life is leaving.”
Viloni, visibly affected, added: “Only the comfort remains that we will see each other again in the ring of the heavens, and we will show the angels what wrestling is all about. See you soon. I love you very much.”
