David Lebón and Pedro Aznar moved to tears remembering Spinetta on Argentine TV

20/06/2026 13:39 - Entretenimiento

An Unforgettable Moment in Argentine Television

Emotion overflowed the studio of Otro Día Perdido when David Lebón (74 years old) and Pedro Aznar remembered Luis Alberto Spinetta on the program hosted by Mario Pergolini on El Trece channel. The musicians of Serú Girán experienced a unique moment when the host projected a video where El Flaco spoke about them.

Lebón, moved to tears, could not hide his emotion upon hearing the words of who was one of the band's creators alongside Charly García. The night transformed into a spontaneous tribute to the legacy of El Flaco Spinetta, who passed away in 2012.

Context for international readers: Luis Alberto Spinetta (1951-2012), nicknamed El Flaco, was one of the most influential and revered musicians in Argentine and Latin American rock history. Serú Girán is considered one of Argentina's greatest rock bands, formed in 1978.

Serú Girán Without Charly García

The current tour of Serú Girán continues without Charly García, who faces health problems that prevent him from taking the stage. The band has hired accompanying musicians to keep alive the repertoire that marked generations:

  • Federico Arreysegor - drums
  • Fernando Cosenza - keyboards
  • Matías Sabagh - guitar
  • Fermín Ferraris - bass

Juan Moro, son of legendary drummer Oscar Moro (deceased), joined to perform the closing songs of each show.

Upcoming Confirmed Dates

The tour travels the country with performances at Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires:

Pergolini and His Bond with Musicians

Mario Pergolini has maintained a close relationship with Argentine rock legends. Recently, the host also participated in a media controversy by defending Florencia Peña after the spread of false information about Jorge Messi. Pergolini recalled that he himself spread a fake news story about Phil Collins in his early days at Rock & Pop radio, questioning the current media race for scoops.

His program Otro Día Perdido, broadcast on El Trece, has become a space where musicians can show their most human side, away from stage pressures.

I also hand over to production if I say something absurd. Streaming is a learning space, Pergolini declared defending the format.

A Legacy That Transcends Generations

Serú Girán formed in 1978 and became one of the most influential bands in Argentine rock. With Charly García, David Lebón, Pedro Aznar and Oscar Moro, the band marked a before and after in national music history. More than four decades after their creation, their songs remain an essential part of the soundtrack of millions of Argentines.
