Argentina's Treasury Sells $146M to Halt Dollar Surge, Stabilizing Markets
In a strategic move between July 28 and 31, 2026, Argentina's Treasury, led by Economy Minister Luis Caputo, sold approximately US$146 million to prevent the official dollar from breaking the ARS 1,500 ceiling. The intervention allowed the Central Bank to resume buying reserves, calming financial markets and setting a positive outlook for the future.
