National Teacher Strike on August 3: Demands and Union Strategies in Argentina
On Monday, August 3, 2026, Argentina’s main teachers’ union CTERA and other education unions will hold a 24-hour national strike. The walkout, coinciding with the return to classes after winter break in several provinces, demands urgent national salary negotiations, restoration of the FONID incentive fund, and rejection of the proposed 'Educational Freedom Law.' State workers’ union ATE will also strike the same day.
