Trial for Sueños Compartidos: Decisive Stage
August 5, 2026 - The judicial process investigating one of the most resonant cases of the last decade enters its final stretch. According to TN, the Federal Oral Court No. 5 resumed hearings this Wednesday after the judicial recess.
The session is dedicated to the closing argument of the Financial Information Unit (UIF), presented by attorney Marianela Teich. After this presentation, the process will continue with the defense arguments, moving closer to the expected verdict projected for September or October of this year.
Context of the Case
The investigation focuses on the alleged diversion of public funds intended for social housing construction between 2005 and 2011. According to the accusation, these resources were channeled through direct awards to the Madres de Plaza de Mayo Foundation, which administered the Misión Sueños Compartidos program during the first presidency of Cristina Kirchner.
Prosecutor Diego Velasco, in his hearing on July 8, described the existence of a criminal scheme devised and organized between the National State and those responsible for the project. He stated that nothing was free; everything was paid for, but nothing was fulfilled; it was all a facade. It is estimated that between 2008 and 2011, more than 206 million Argentine pesos (ARS) were diverted from the 900 million ARS allocated.

The court, composed of judges Adrián Grünberg, Adriana Palliotti, and Ricardo Basílico, will deliberate once all presentations conclude, thus closing a chapter that has kept the political and judicial spheres attentive in the pursuit of transparency.
