Esteban Lamothe's Golden Era: Theater, Cinema, and Love in Buenos Aires

12/07/2026 10:25 - Entretenimiento

A Present Full of Love and Work

Argentine actor Esteban Lamothe is going through one of the best moments of his life. According to Infobae, in July 2026 he is moving in with fellow actress Débora Nishimoto, whom he started dating during the filming of the hit series 'Envidiosa'. 'I am very much in love,' confessed the actor, who explained that their story began when she was about to travel to Spain and he asked her if it made sense to wait for her. Her positive response marked the beginning of a relationship that will soon take the leap into cohabitation in a new house, along with their dog and cat.

Blended Families and Fatherhood

Lamothe also spoke about his relationship with his son Luis, who is entering high school, the result of his previous relationship with renowned actress Julieta Zylberberg. He highlighted the excellent dynamic they have with Julieta's current husband, Agustín, and praised Débora's role as a stepmother. 'If you love your children, you have to try to get along with the person they live with,' reflected the actor, demonstrating a mature and healthy perspective on blended families.

Upcoming Projects and Theater in Buenos Aires

  • Theater: He stars from Thursday to Sunday in 'Secreto en la montaña' (the Argentine stage adaptation of 'Brokeback Mountain') alongside Benjamín Vicuña at the Multiteatro, located on the famous Corrientes Street, the vibrant heart of Buenos Aires' theater district.
  • Series: He finished filming 'Sanamente' for Flow (an Argentine streaming platform) and TNT, scheduled to premiere in 2027, starring Inés Estévez and Juan Gil Navarro. He will also re-release 'El tiempo todo entero' in August with his theater group 'El Silencio'.
  • Direction: He is seeking financing for his directorial debut, 'El remisero absoluto', a police thriller about a cab driver who finds a briefcase full of money.

Youth Anecdotes and Odd Jobs

Before consolidating his acting career, Lamothe worked for ten years as a waiter in Puerto Madero (an upscale, historic waterfront district in Buenos Aires), handed out flyers, painted apartments, and even collected garbage for a marketing company. He humorously recalled that at age 25, after starring in 'La vida por Perón' (a play about the iconic former Argentine president Juan Domingo Perón), he quit his job at a traditional steakhouse, but had to ask for his job back months later due to lack of money, dubbing himself the 'Homer Simpson' of the grill.

The actor also revealed curious situations from his childhood in Ameghino, a small town in Buenos Aires province, such as when he stole a suckling pig to eat with friends, or the times he was arbitrarily detained by the police during his teenage years in the 1990s, even spending a weekend in a holding cell without having done anything wrong.

Views on Social Media and 'Hate'

When asked about the attacks he receives on social media, Lamothe was blunt: 'Hate is a tool for cowards.' The actor explained that he decided to stay away from Twitter and prefers to focus on the real affection he receives on the streets and outside the theater, recalling that 'the anguish over a bad review lasts the same amount of time as the joy over a good one: 48 hours.'
